Orthodontics is a specialty of dentistry that is responsible for the diagnosis and correction of incorrectly positioned teeth and bones. Teeth that are in a wrong position and that do not properly bite against each other are difficult to keep clean, are at risk of early loss due to cavities and periodontal diseases, and cause extra stress on the chewing muscles that can lead to headaches, TMJ syndrome and diverse pains in the neck, shoulders and back. Furthermore, improperly rotated or positioned teeth detract from our appearance.
Orthodontic treatments have the advantage of providing us with a healthy mouth, a pleasant-looking smile and teeth with a greater chance of lasting a lifetime.
