The breast implant is a prosthesis used in cosmetic surgery to increase the size of the breasts (known as breast augmentation or augmentation mammoplasty).
There are various types of implants in different shapes and textures and in the filler material available.
Implants tend to be of two main forms:
• Round Placed vertically, they have the same width on both the top and bottom.
• Anatomical Drop shaped, or wider at the base. They were designed to provide a more natural appearance as in a way they imitate the shape of the unoperated breast.
Aging, pregnancy and weight loss can have a negative impact on the appearance of the breasts. These are just a few factors that cause the breasts to lose elasticity, become soft and even lose volume.
Some women choose to combine their breast lift procedure with breast implants in order to further enhance the results.
Breast reduction or reduction mammoplasty is a surgical procedure to reduce the size of the breast through the removal of fat, breast tissue and skin, making them smaller, lighter and firmer. The size of the areola can be reduced as well. Women with large breasts can have problems due to this excess weight, such as back and neck pain, skin irritations beneath the breast.
This consists in modeling the contours of the body through lipoaspiration, liposuction or liposculpture.
This technique involves the removal of fatty tissue, without skin resection, by means of small cannulas that are inserted through very small incisions.
There are different ways of conducting this procedure:
Conventional, in which the cannulas, after making contact with the fatty tissue, proceed to remove it by negative pressure, assisted by laser, in which a liquefaction of fat is brought about; this also generates greater retraction of the skin, enhancing the results.
The areas of the body that can be treated with this method are:
the abdomen, hips, outer and inner sides of the thighs, knees, ankles, back, neck and arms.
Abdominoplasty is a surgical procedure for reconstruction of the abdominal wall, which consists of removing excess skin, excess fat and the tension of the muscles of the abdominal wall with the ultimate goal of reshaping the abdomen, waist and shape of the trunk of the body. Sometimes this procedure is done with liposuction to achieve better contour definition.
Brachioplasty is an intervention meant to treat flaccidity and excess fat in the inner side of the arms. With the passing of the years or after having lost a lot of weight, the skin of the arms can appear to sag. When this is pronounced there is no effective treatment aside from surgery.
Gluteal reshaping consists of carrying out one or several treatments that are combined with each other: Liposuction or liposculpture of peripheral areas with or without lipotransference of fat removed from other areas to be infiltrated into the gluteal region.
Breast cancer is still the most common type of cancer among women in our society today. Besides being a terrible disease, treatment often involves mastectomy or breast removal, with the consequent loss of a breast for the woman who suffers from it. Breast reconstruction is an essential step towards normality. It not only reinstates a lost organ, but it helps to restore femininity, self-image, psychological balance and helps to lessen the shock from fighting against cancer.
